At Pago de Larrainzar, wood is the perfect compliment to our grapes, where the wines we once dreamed of age until maturity. We make sure that the temperature and humidity levels are perfect so that the soulful wine gains in complexity as the months go by.
We believe in blending the wines made from a single harvest. Blending starts with tens of different potential wines created by the use of different varieties, tank sizes, barrels and toasting levels of the French oak barrels that are renewed every three years.
Blending is a slow and refined task that, following the expert advice of our enologist consultant, Ignacio de Miguel, results in Pago de Larrainzar.
After blending is completed, the Pago de Larrainzar wine is transferred into carefully designed bottles, and sealed with the best quality natural corks. Then the bottled wine rests in our wine rack which has a capacity of 100,000 bottles.
