THIS PRUNING METHOD IS ONE OF THE MOST TRADITIONAL USED IN THE WORLD, ESPECIALLY IN SPAIN.
IT ADOPTS MANY SHAPES AND SIZES DEPENDING ON THE REGIONS. IT IS BASED ON A SHORT TRUNK, USUALLY BELOW 20 CM, PLANTED WITHOUT A TRELLIS. IT HAS 3 ARMS OR SHORT BRANCHES. AT THE END OF THE ARMS THE SPURS ARE LEFT AND THEY WILL PRODUCE SHOOTS THAT WILL BEAR THE FRUIT.
THESE ARMS WILL GIVE THE VINE A CHANDELIER SHAPE, AS THE YEARS PASS. THE INSIDE OF THE VINE IS OPEN, ENSURING IT ALWAYS HAS ENOUGH LIGHT AND AIR TO BE KEPT IN A HEALTHY STATE.
IT IS EASY TO TRAIN AND MAINTAIN BUT MECHANICAL MANAGEMENT IS LIMITED.
